I wanna go back to being weird. I like being weird. Weird’s all I’ve got. That and a sweet style.

Terribly relevant right now, at this goodbye time of the year.

Recipe of the Day: Eggs and Seeds

If you are a middle school student from southeast DC, or someone with no taste buds, then you are sure to love this flavorful snack!  It’s extremely popular with my 6th graders, and I thought I would share it with you.

Ingredients:

  • One package of flavored sunflower seeds, unshelled
  • One pickled egg, preferably blood red in color

Directions:

  • Place pickled egg into a ziplock baggie
  • Pour seeds into the baggie with the egg, seal the bag
  • Mush up the egg, being sure to mix it well with the seeds
  • Cut a small hole in the corner of the bag and squeeze the mixture out of the hole, like you’re squeezing icing out of a tube
  • Suck the mixture out of the bag
  • Bonus: be sure to get as much egg juice on your hands as possible, and for added effect, spit the seeds on the floor or hide them in your desk
  • Bon appetit!
